Academics

A strong academic program is only one of the many advantages Calvary offers. The teaching of the Bible is the foundation for all other learning and is evidenced in the classroom with daily devotionals, and prayer. The students are involved in the Bible studies throughout the week.

Calvary offers the best in core academic classes, Honors Literature classes, and AP classes in which the children may receive college credit after passing a competency test. Our trained and qualified staff have a heart for ministry and installing educational excellence into the lived of the students.

We believe strong arts and humanities programs are an important part to a balanced education. The Music department offers private piano lessons, hand chimes, band, choir, music appreciation and a Praise Team which leads us in worship during our regular Chapel services. We also offer sign lanuage classes, art classes, physical education, current event classes, and often after school specialty classes, such as tap, family living, and specific Bible studies.

Our students have recently received High Honors in the Association of Christian Schools regional competitions in Art, and the yearly Spelling Bee. Our high school students have received outstanding scores on the ACT test. Our graduating seniors are enrolled successfully in colleges across Kentucky, such as Asbury, Berea, and University of Kentucky.

Every spring, CSS administers the Stanford 10, form IV, Achievement Test to evaluate the effectiveness of the cirriculum and the school. Scores consistently show high achievement amoung the students, many scoring well above grade level.

Calvary Christian School is also a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), a world wide organization which exists solely to assisst in the growth and development of Christian Schools.
